About Dr. A.I.T.H., Kanpur.



Govt. of U.P. established Dr. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology for Handicapped (A.I.T.H.) in Kanpur in 1997 under World Bank associated project-Technical Education. College imparts technical education to students through two courses: B.Tech and Diploma Programs.
College has a lush green campus with an area of twenty acre. A.I.T.H.-Kanpur is one of the three Institutions in Asia and among two in India established under World Bank Projects.
The courses are affiliated to U.P. Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow, and are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) New Delhi.

There are five branches in the degree wing of the Institute :

  • Chemical Engineering [ 60 seats ].
  • Computer Science and Engineering [ 60 seats ].
  • Electronics Engineering [ 60 seats ].
  • Information Technology [ 60 seats ].
  • Biotechnlogy [ 60 seats ].
Green = Opened in the year 2004. Red = Opened in the year 2008

Institute is well equipped with workshops & labs to fulfill the training needs of the students. The computer lab is equipped with state of art network including latest personal computers and wide area network (WAN) facility.

Institute maintains well residential facility for staff and students (in hostel) with 24-hour power backup and Internet connectivity. Separate, on campus, hostels for boys and girls are provided. Round the clock security is provided in the campus.

Admissions to degree programs are made through combined entrance examination- U.P. SEE- conducted by U.P.Technical University Lucknow, held every year.

College faculty, culture, environment & extra-curricular activities provide necessary inputs & opportunities for all round development of students. The management and students council aim for promoting games, NSS camps, cultural & literary events and other activities for the students.

The infrastructure of the institute is conductive not only in imparting quality academic training but also for industrial oriented program to develop students to work effectively in their areas at shop floor or in office as required.
